Letton ↔ Français
My mother tongue and the language I live in. The rarest of these combinations, and the one I work in most.
Translation, revision and quality assessment between Latvian, French, English and Spanish. Latvian is my mother tongue — a rare combination to find in France, and the one I am asked for most.
Latvian to French is my speciality: few translators work that pair in France, and it is the one I am quickest in.

Translating is only part of the job. Much of the work is picking up a text that has already been translated — and saying what it is worth.
A text that reads as though it had been written in its target language.
Translation of documents and written content between Latvian, French, English and Spanish. Contracts, correspondence, websites, commercial material, technical documentation.
Your translation already exists. It needs a second pair of eyes.
The translation is compared against the source text, the language and style are corrected and the register is made consistent. What you receive is ready to publish.
The same term, translated the same way, from beginning to end.
A check of terminological consistency and fidelity to the source, across one document or a set of them. Essential the moment a text has passed through more than one pair of hands.
Knowing what a translation is worth before you publish it.
Assessment and correction of translated documents, including work produced by machine translation or by a third party. You receive a reasoned opinion, not only a corrected file.
Per-word rates in euros and in Swedish kronor (fixed amounts, not conversions), indicative: the price depends on how technical the text is, the file format, and the deadline. Minimum invoice: €30 / SEK 340 per order. VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. The firm price is the one in the written quotation, in the currency you chose.
For the requests that come up most often the scope and the price are settled in advance: you know what you are paying before you write to me, and you can order straight away.
A CV and a cover letter, ready to send.
The complete application translated into one language pair, with the layout preserved and job titles adapted to how they are written in the country you are applying to.
Not included Sworn translation of diplomas or academic transcripts.
The pages that sell, translated in one piece.
Up to 1,500 words of web content in one language pair, translated together so the tone and vocabulary stay the same from one page to the next.
Not included Technical integration into the site, search optimisation, writing original content.
Prices in euros and in Swedish kronor (fixed amounts, not conversions), for one language pair; you pay in the currency you chose. VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. Beyond the word counts shown, the work is charged per word at the usual rate. These packages are paid at the time of order, unlike work priced per word, which is invoiced after delivery.
A translation can be grammatically correct and still be wrong. This is the kind of discrepancy a revision catches, on sentences taken from contracts.
This agreementcontract takes effect on the date of signature and stays valid for a period ofremains in force for a term of twelve months.
What was found: The source used one term throughout. The translation alternated between 'agreement' and 'contract' from paragraph to paragraph.
Delivery takes place within 5 dayswithin 5 working days, except if there is a problemin circumstances beyond our control.
What was found: Two shifts in meaning: a deadline shortened by roughly two days, and a force majeure clause stripped of its legal weight.
A commercial contract, an administrative letter and a revision for an agency call for neither the same work nor the same tone. All three are welcome.
You sell, hire or contract in more than one language. Your documents have to be right the first time.
A personal document to be translated, without jargon and without having to go through an agency.
You need a native Latvian reviser, or an independent quality check on something before it goes out.
Enter the word count of your document and the service you want. The figure shown is an estimate; the written quotation remains the reference.
Indicative estimate, excluding complex formatting and urgent work. Minimum invoice: €30 / SEK 340 per order. Krona amounts are fixed prices, not conversions. Only the written quotation binds both parties.
The rate is set per word of the source text, which means the amount is known before the work begins — unlike billing by the hour.
Three things can move it: how technical the text is, the file format when it needs reformatting, and the deadline when it is shorter than the one shown below.
| Service | Per word | Turnaround |
|---|---|---|
| Document translation | €0.12SEK 1.35 | 24 hours up to 1,000 words |
| Revision and proofreading | €0.06SEK 0.68 | 24 hours up to 2,000 words |
| Terminology consistency | €0.05SEK 0.56 | 48 hours |
| Quality assessment | €0.05SEK 0.56 | 48 hours |
VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. Prices are fixed in each currency — the krona figures are not conversions — and the currency you choose here is the one of your quotation and your invoice. Work priced per word is invoiced after delivery, payable within fourteen days, with no deposit. The fixed-price packages are paid at the time of order.
Freelance translator based in Paris. Latvian is my mother tongue and French is the language I live in; I also work to and from English and Spanish.
I translate, I revise, and I assess translations that already exist. You speak to the person doing the work: no project manager, no invisible subcontracting, and no text handed to a machine without your knowing.
Translating is not replacing words. It is writing the same text for someone else.

The rate is set per word of the source text, from €0.12 / SEK 1.35 per word for translation and €0.05 / SEK 0.56 for a quality assessment. The minimum invoice is €30 / SEK 340 per order.
Three things move that figure: how technical the text is, the file format when it needs reformatting, and how urgent it is. You receive a free written quotation before any work begins.
The fixed-price packages are the exception. Their scope is closed and the figure is published, so there is nothing to quote.
Both, and you choose. Every price on this site is shown in euros and in Swedish kronor; the switcher at the top puts the one you prefer first.
The krona amounts are fixed prices, not conversions at the day's rate: what you see is what the quotation says, and the invoice and any payment are in the currency you chose. Nothing is converted afterwards.
No. A sworn translation can only be produced by a translator listed as an expert with a French Court of Appeal, and I am not on that list. It would be dishonest to suggest otherwise.
If your document has to be presented to a préfecture, a court, a consulate or a university, ask which form they require before ordering anything. Many of them accept an ordinary translation; some do not, and only they can tell you.
For everything else — contracts, correspondence, websites, personal documents, commercial material — no sworn status is needed and I can help.
After you have received the work. There is no deposit, no advance and no staged payment, whatever the amount and whoever you are.
The invoice is issued once the translation is in your hands and is payable within fourteen days. You can settle it by bank transfer, or through the payment page on this site, which works out the amount from the rate in your quotation and the number of words invoiced.
Nothing on this site can be bought in advance. The payment page settles an invoice; it does not order anything.
No, and paying would not speed anything up. Ask for a quotation first: it is free, it usually comes back the same day, and it fixes the price and the deadline before anything begins.
A payment made without a corresponding order is refunded in full, which costs us both time. The payment page carries a warning for exactly that reason.
From the moment your text is in my hands, not from the moment you order. A package bought on Friday evening with the file sent on Monday is delivered from Monday.
You can paste the text at checkout or reply to your confirmation email with the file attached. Either is fine, and the confirmation says so.
A translation up to 1,000 words within 24 hours; a revision up to 2,000 words within 24 hours; terminology work and quality assessments within 48 hours. The website package takes five working days.
These are the times written into the terms, not optimistic estimates. If a deadline cannot be met I say so before you order rather than after.
If you are buying as a private individual you have fourteen days to withdraw. Because the packages are delivered in 24 to 48 hours, you are asked at checkout to confirm that work may begin sooner — and that confirmation is what ends the right once the work has been delivered in full.
If nothing has been started, you are refunded in full, no questions asked. If work has begun, you owe a proportionate amount for what was done, and I show you the calculation before invoicing it.
No text of yours is put through an online translation tool. Free tools keep what you paste into them, and a contract or a personal document has no business being stored on someone else's server.
I do assess and correct machine output when you ask me to — that is a service in its own right, and it is priced as one.
Source files and translations are kept for ninety days after delivery, so a lost file can be reissued. After that they are deleted.
If you would rather they were deleted the moment you have received the work, say so and they are.
You do, once it has been paid for. A translation is a derivative work with its own copyright under French law, and those rights transfer to you on payment in full.
Until then you hold a right of use that I can revoke if the invoice goes unpaid. In practice this never comes up, but it is written down so neither of us has to guess.
With me, from the first message to delivery. Nothing is passed to a colleague halfway through and nothing is subcontracted without telling you.
The trade-off is honest: work I cannot deliver in the time I quoted gets declined rather than accepted and stretched.
Describe your text and the language it has to end up in. You receive a free written quotation, with no obligation, usually the same day.
